My belongings had been exposed to a water leak and subsequent drywall construction, and my reactions to them had become so significant that I could not tolerate being within approximately 16 feet of the items. I therefore could not be on-site at any point to supervise or assist with the cleaning. I provided four pages of detailed written instructions covering how to set up the work area, how to carry out the remediation and cleaning process, and how to break everything down safely afterward. That made Kayd’s ability to independently read, understand, and meticulously follow detailed directions absolutely essential. Kayd managed a team of cleaners, he did a superb, spectacular job. Over four intensive hours, he and the team carefully cleaned my belongings with hydrogen peroxide and alcohol, followed the protocol extraordinarily closely, and was exceptionally thorough, conscientious, and careful throughout the entire process. There is no greater testament to the quality of Kayd’s work than my own physical response. With medical sensitivities this extreme, I was able to bring my belongings back into my room after he finished cleaning and did not have a reaction. That is an exceptionally high bar for me and speaks volumes about how thoroughly he cleaned everything. Without this level of meticulous remediation, I potentially would have had to discard many of my personal belongings simply because I could no longer tolerate being around them.
