About Us

We're revolutionizing the way people work —
by redefining what it means to be neighborly.

Our Story

Kobe

It was a cold night in Boston in February of 2008 when Leah Busque realized she was out of dog food for her 100–lb yellow lab, Kobe. Leah thought to herself, “Wouldn’t it be nice if there was a place online I could go to connect with my neighbors — maybe one who was already at the store at that very moment — who could help me out?”

From this experience, TaskRabbit, an online and mobile marketplace that connects neighbors to get things done, was born. Fully vetted, entrepreneurially-minded professionals contribute their time and skills to help busy people find extra time in their days to do the things they love. Neighbors helping neighbors — it's an old school concept reimagined for today.

A passion for the convergence of operational, analytical, and strategic execution inspired Stacy Brown-Philpot to join TaskRabbit, where she applies her considerable experience to scaling and expanding the marketplace. Before taking the operational helm at TaskRabbit, Stacy served as Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Google Ventures, lending strategic expertise to the firm’s portfolio companies. Prior to that, she spent nearly a decade leading global operations for Google’s flagship products, including Search, Chrome, and Google+, and serving as Head of Online Sales and Operations for Google India.

Stacy founded the Black Googler Network, a seminal component of diversification initiatives at Google and the larger technology industry. She also brings a background in finance from her time at PricewaterhouseCoopers and Goldman Sachs. Originally from Detroit where she developed a deep and abiding love for all things Motown, Stacy now resides in Palo Alto with her husband, daughter, and Zeus, the greatest Yorkie in the world. She holds a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude, and an M.B.A. from the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University.

Kevin is TaskRabbit's Vice President of Technology, overseeing TaskRabbit's entire infrastructure and technical operations, with an emphasis on maintaining data security. Prior to joining TaskRabbit, Kevin was a founding team member of Humedica, a healthcare analytics company that was acquired by UnitedHealth. Before that, he was CIO for the Institute for Health Metrics and managed the US Information Technology for Systinet, an SOA company acquired by HP.

A Boston transplant now living in San Mateo, Kevin can often be found either hand-building things for the TaskRabbit team, like a fully stocked bar or movie theater, or training his cuddly black lab, Emerson.

Yee is TaskRabbit's Vice President of Engineering. He oversees the company's Mobile and Web product development efforts. Yee brings over fifteen years of product management and engineering experience to TaskRabbit. He was an early PayPal and Slide employee and has launched three startups, one of which was acquired by Google. Yee is an active angel investor and advisor to consumer Internet companies and has helped over a dozen get off the ground, including SlideShare, Khush, GroupCard, Togetherville and Wildfire Interactive.

When not in the office, you can find him skiing with his wife and two boys (a family that skis together, stays together!), road biking the Bay Area's wonderful terrain, or at the controls of a growing fleet of RC airplanes and helicopters. He currently resides in Palo Alto, and holds a BS in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from the University of California at Berkeley, and a MS in Management Science & Engineering from Stanford University.
