Frequently asked questions about Fence Installation & Repair Services
The price for fence repairs starts at $45 per hour in Portland. You can expect minor repairs, such as replacing a broken picket or two, to take up to a half day. Moderate repairs, such as replacing several damaged sections, can take up to a full day. Major repairs replacing entire sections from storms or an accident take several days to complete.
Check with your Tasker before the job to determine what experience they have, but many Taskers are happy to install wooden, vinyl or chain-link fences.
Chain-link fencing is one of the most affordable options. Basic wooden fencing is also relatively affordable, especially if you do some of the work yourself. While vinyl fencing requires a larger upfront cost compared to wood or chain-link fencing, it requires minimal long-term maintenance.
Yes, you can fix a rotting fence simply by removing the damaged sections and replacing the rotted boards and posts. Don't forget to treat the repaired wood to prevent further damage. To prevent future rot, regularly inspect your fence and repair any issues promptly.
The most challenging aspect of installing a fence can vary depending on the project. Properly setting the posts is crucial for long-term fence stability. Complex designs can also add difficulty to fence installation. Other factors, such as ease of access to the site and making sure the fence follows property lines, can further complicate the job.
