- Gary L.We used the TaskRabbit app to have "Robert K" replace a small cat door (inserted in our indoor garage door) with a much larger pet door. I explained that we are an immunocompromised family and need to protect a family member from viral infection. Also, I warned that our indoor cats will take every opportunity to get loose to explore outside, so as we go in and out of the house, we must block them from escaping. Robert arrived on time and immediately used the surgical mask we provided before coming indoors. He understood the need for our home to be sterile, and he didn't touch anything except the indoor garage door. Our plan was for me to open the lifting garage door so that he could carry the door outside and do the cutting out on our driveway. I closed the lifting door as soon as he was outside, making sure that no cats got out. He removed the old cat door and placed the new door on top of the hole where the old cat door had been. Then he called me to come outside just to make sure that it was positioned according to our needs. I had told him to lower the door 2 inches, but after looking I asked him to lower it an extra inch. I went back inside while he worked. When the new hole had been cut and the new cat door was installed, he knocked on the front door, which was my signal to let him in through the lifting garage door. He hung the door, and everything was perfect. He then sanitized the door on both sides where he had touched. He cheerfully took every precaution to protect our family member's health, and it was appreciated. In all my interactions with Robert, he expressed thanks for the privilege of helping us. I felt that he was more than a skilled carpenter, in fact, he would make a great friend. Through the TaskRabbit app, he communicated clearly the date and time of the service and the cost estimate (which was highly accurate). I need to relate one more thing - I misread the service date and expected him a week earlier. When I saw that the scheduled arrival time had passed, I used the app to send him a text to know when he thought he would arrive. Then I looked at the app and saw my blunder. Immediately, Robert called me out of concern. When I told him my mistake and described the reason we need this done quickly, he told me that the next day was his day off and offered to help us tomorrow morning. I was very grateful for this kind offer and accepted. In short, here was a kind, skilled man who treats his customers as he would his family. I will definitely be using "Robert K" through the TaskRabbit app for any future needs.Carpentry
