• Katherine M.Rachel achieved more in the deep cleaning in my apartment than I could have hoped for! She has high standards which I appreciate, as I have really stopped my housekeeping the past few years and I have forgotten how things are supposed to be. I used to clean and deep clean, but not with much skill to be honest. Since I moved into this place 10 years ago there has been this gunk under some of the pvc trim in the bathroom and kitchen. I am pretty sure it was construction adhesive and the contractors/diy people or whoever "remodeled" this place just stuck the trim on and the stuff squeezed out and they never bothered to clean it. It collected dust and looked kind of fuzzy it was truly disgusting. Over the years I have tried to get it off using cleaners and sponge and things and got nowhere then I just gave up (I realize now I could have probably used goo gone, but I didn't think of that). Rachel got that nasty stuff off and I am so happy. Also, the tile grout in my kitchen has always been kind of grey ever since I moved in, some places worse than others, so I knew it was supposed to be a different, lighter color and I went at it with a toothbrush from time to time but achieved absolutely nothing with that. It has gotten worse over the years and I kind of stopped caring. And also I had a roommate who used to use some kind of candle in the bathroom and caused light soot to go all over the ceiling and walls! She would burn the candle when she took a shower or whatever and the condensation on the walls would cause the soot to stick. I tried to clean it, but gave up about 25% in because it was the whole ceiling and walls. Also, I'm not sure what the original contractors did in the shower but they painted on some of the tile (didn't bother to tape before they painted I guess) and the tile goes all the way up to the ceiling and there was some mildew growing up there due to the moisture and I think they used the wrong kind of caulk on the top. Rachel cleaned the walls and cleaned the top getting all that stuff off, and scraped the paint off the tiles so I no longer have to look at their sloppy paint job which I would resent every time I looked up there but not anymore! I have been in my apartment for 10 years and I stopped cleaning like 2 years ago. I had one cleaner come for a day 2 years ago but that was it. I do my dishes and sweep and vacuum occasionally and have done my cabinet fronts once in 3 years. I got long covid in 2022-2023 and have been having a variety of health problems including vitamin deficiencies (get your iron and vitamin D checked people!), sleep apnea issues, and a very demanding job, and just totally stopped all my cleaning routines. I didn't know what was wrong with me until recently the doctor checked my levels and I have been taking vitamins and starting to feel like my old self again so I decided to hire a cleaner to get started on this very dirty apartment. Rachel came last weekend and cleaned my shower, cleaned a lot of the soot, and got that dang goo off the trim, thank goodness. I have had other cleaners come over the years and no other cleaners got it! I thought it would be there forever. She cleaned the bathroom so well, I feel like a normal person again! She also cleaned my living room and my bedroom, doing the baseboards and dusting and I feel so much better in here. I know there is a lot to go but I feel like it isn't hopeless anymore. She came back today with her steamer and started steaming the tiles in my kitchen. They are not supposed to be grey but are in fact a light pink. The floor was so dirty, so much dirt trapped in the grout as well she dumped the mop bucket 5 times. I am amazed. It is good to have someone come into my house who has a higher standard of cleaning, it gives me something to aspire to and I really appreciate it! Seeing the job she did felt really good because it reminded me of what I have been missing in a clean house! I used to have standards but honestly I forgot how much the tile and that goo used to bother me, I thought the various conditions of the bathroom were hopeless, but she cleaned it! I have a huge kitchen, she said wasn't able to get the kitchen floor perfect, but it looks dang good to me! It is a big job so I appreciate everything she has done here. Also she is a nice person. It really helped me to have someone with high standards who knows what they are doing look at my house and start cleaning it! House Cleaning
