Tasker Spotlight: Brent D.

Our Tasker Spotlight series continues with a Tasker out of Boston and southern New Hampshire skilled in Furniture Assembly, Mounting, and MovingBrent D.! Let’s learn more about Brent and his tasking journey.

How Did You Find Out About Taskrabbit?

Back when he was working in Los Angeles, he was a TV casting producer and doing stand up comedy on the side. In between casting shows, you have a lot of time on your hands and many people go on unemployment. Brent himself wanted to stay busy. So instead of standing on top of the Hollywood sign shouting ‘I can help!,’ he started looking up gig economy apps, found Taskrabbit, took a chance, and never looked back.

What Interests You About Tasking?

Brent got into tasking because being able to meet and help new people has always been a huge priority for him.

“I love being my own boss, choosing my own work locations, and setting my own pay rate. There is no company schedule set, so I can work as much or as little as I’d prefer.”

Most Memorable Task?

“During the holidays a few years ago in Los Angeles, I couldn’t get home so I turned on my Availability because I wanted to stay busy. I ended up getting a lot of jobs on Christmas Eve and would go over to their place and under the lights of Christmas tree and the smell of cinnamon, and their kids were sleeping, I became one of Santa’s elves and would start putting together power wheels, big forts, like a lot of fun toys for kids. I knew that they would wake up the next morning and just be elated. That was really exciting and I felt like I was just doing something so impactful.”

If You Could Task For Anyone…

“My brother-in-law, Fran. He’s so helpful and knowledgeable with everything ‘tools’ and building and has always been there for me when I need some quick advice. He had a bad accident last year and has been learning to walk again. I may even give him a discount, but let’s not get too crazy!”

Outside of Tasking…

“I’ve played hockey since I was 5-years-old and continue to play weekly. There is simply nowhere I feel more comfortable than on a pair of ice skates.”

If you’re in Boston or southern New Hampshire, be sure to book Brent D.! Hiring a Tasker is a complete game changer, especially when you hire one who loves to help others and stay busy.
