2023 may be almost over but talking about the IKEA Foundation and its partners has just begun! This month we want to talk about another IKEA Foundation Partner—Better Shelter.
In 2022, there were over 100 million people worldwide who were forced to flee their homes. These people deserve a home and something better than just a tent when they are displaced.
Better Shelter developed a flat-pack shelter in partnership with UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, and the IKEA Foundation to help hundreds of thousands of displaced people around the world feel safe and with dignity. In 2023, the IKEA Foundation supported Better Shelter to provide shelters to people displaced by fighting in Sudan and by the devastating earthquake in Turkïye and Syria.
