Taskrabbit Supports Equitable Reproductive Healthcare

Taskrabbit is a woman-led and values-driven company, and over the past few weeks, we’ve put serious thought into what is right for our employees. We pride ourselves on being a diverse community with varying viewpoints. But one value remains universal: we support the health and wellbeing of everyone, however that may be defined for them. We believe that the tools and resources needed to make personal decisions about one’s body and health should be accessible to all. We also believe the lack of abortion and reproductive healthcare access will always have the biggest impact on low-income communities and people of color, making restrictions and bans a huge step back in the fight for an equitable world. What we’re dealing with is not only a cisgendered women’s issue – it is a fundamental human rights issue.

For these reasons, we’ve added abortion and vasectomy services, as well as necessary travel to seek services where legally available, to our Reproductive Health Stipend. We’ve also signed onto the Don’t Ban Equality letter. We agree with the letter’s core message – that access to comprehensive reproductive health care is central to gender equity and birthing peoples’ full participation in the workplace. For businesses like Taskrabbit, restrictions on access to reproductive health care are at odds with corporate values.

As a company, we strive to set our employees up for success, both professionally and personally. As we look toward the future, we will always prioritize our employees’ health and wellbeing as we keep fighting for a more equitable world for all.
