“I delivered a Thanksgiving feast to a man whose daughter lives on the mainland and couldn’t be with him in person. He was so touched and I think that is such a thoughtful gesture, getting to be a part of that moment is really what it’s all about.”

“Perhaps my top tasking experience was when I was hired to assemble a trampoline for a family on Christmas Eve while the kids were away at a friend’s house. By the time they got back it was dark and they couldn’t see it in the backyard, so when they woke up on Christmas Day, a full-sized trampoline had magically materialized in their backyard. A moderate rain started falling while I was about halfway done with the assembly, but it was worth it to weather the weather because I knew how much joy it would bring those kids the following morning.”

“They broke their water shut-off valve at the meter. It was New Year’s Eve and they couldn’t find anyone. I was out of town already, up in Barrie. Since they were in trouble, I drove down from Barrie and fixed their water line. Their husband gave me a tearful hug.”

“I recently completed an IKEA Assembly task for a couple who was establishing a new home closer to family. Turns out their family are leadership for the Kansas City Chiefs and they occasionally go to a game. When I asked them about the Swift/Kelce excitement, they said that Taylor Swift was their neighbor at their other home and they saw her at the grocery store all the time! Really, she had just followed them to Kansas City.”

After 45 minutes with no success I explained to the owner that I was going to have to destroy the water lines in order to get this off. 1 hour and 45 minutes later the old faucet breaks free! He yells ‘Alright you did it! Yes!’ His wife starts clapping. I emerged from under the sink and he gave me a big hug! It only took 20 minutes to install the new faucet.”
