1. Introducing New Skills & Tools Policy:
- What this means: To keep tasks running smoothly, we’re rolling out an update to provide more guidance on Skills & Tools expected to do a job.
- Why we did it: As a Tasker, you should not opt into categories or accept tasks if you do not have the basic skills or tools that clients expect for those categories. Full, updated lists of the skills and tools that clients expect can now be found in your app.
- For new categories: These are visible in the “Add Skills” screen.
- For categories you have already opted into: These are visible in “My Skills”; select the category and scroll down to “View Expectations.”
- Remember: Repeatedly accepting tasks without having the basic skills or tools that clients expect to complete those tasks may result in losing access to those categories. To avoid accepting jobs you cannot complete, you should ask your client scoping questions.
- Helpful Tip: Don’t forget that the cost of many tools and supplies can be deducted when filing taxes. Check out our video on tax guidance from our Tasker perks partner, Everlance, and take advantage of discounted access to their tool for managing expenses.

2. Launching Global Pricing Structures:
- What this means: We’ve put together a quick and easy guide to explain the different ways you can earn on the platform.
- Why we did it: As our business grows, we’re expanding into different payment structures. We’ve created a blog post that breaks down the three ways you can earn on the platform:
- Task-Based Earning – Used for Partnership tasks, including IKEA Assembly
- Pre-Set Hourly – Used for direct hire jobs
- Self-Set Hourly – You choose your rate by category
- Whether you’re new or experienced, this guide helps you understand your options and make the most of your time on Taskrabbit.
Bug Fixes
We have resolved a bug related to our previous app update. Users will no longer get “An Error occurred loading this chat thread” when navigating to their chat directly from their Dashboard.
