Whether you’re just getting started on Taskrabbit or have been tasking for years, we want to make it simple to understand how your earnings work. Transparent pricing isn’t just good for clients — it’s good for Taskers, too. We’re committed to helping you plan your time, earn confidently, and grow on the platform.
Below, we’ll break down how pricing works on Taskrabbit, what’s new with Task-Based Earning, and how to make the most of every opportunity.
Why Transparency Matters to Us
At Taskrabbit, we believe that clarity leads to better outcomes — for Taskers and clients alike. When you know exactly how much you’ll earn, you can:
- Plan your week with confidence
- Build trust with clients through clear expectations
- Focus on the job — not the math
We’ve designed our earning structures to support your success, no matter what kind of tasks you take on.
Breakdown of the Earning Structures
We currently use three earning structures across the platform. Here’s what they mean and how they show up in your app:
Task-Based Earning Structure
This structure offers a fixed payment per task — not an hourly rate. You’ll see exactly what you’ll earn up front, regardless of how long it takes you to complete the task.
Where you’ll see it:
- Partner Tasks
- IKEA Assembly Tasks
- TV Mounting: Only live in select areas
- General Mounting: Only live in select areas
Please note that the Task-Based Earning structure currently applies to General and TV Mounting Taskers in these areas:
- Tampa/St. Petersburg
- SF Bay Area
- Oklahoma City
- Tucson
- Charleston
- New Orleans
- Norfolk
- Indianapolis
- Jacksonville
- Nashville
- San Antonio
- Ann Arbor/Detroit
- Orlando
- Houston
However, this is subject to change, and we may expand this pricing structure to other categories and areas over time.
Taskers in the above metros that remain in the Mounting category consent to receive Task-Based Earning jobs. Remember that you can always opt out in your Tasker app under Skills & Rates!
Look for this label: Look for the “Task-Based” callout on task invitations
Benefits for Taskers:
- No clock-watching
- The benefit of earning the full amount for the task, even if you complete it faster
- Clients know exactly what they’ll pay, reducing back-and-forth
Pre-Set Hourly Earning Structure
This structure offers a pre-set hourly rate for direct hire jobs. These tasks are designed for simplicity and clear expectations.
Where you’ll see it: This earning structure is only used for direct hire jobs, when a client specifically chooses you to complete a task.
Look for this label: “Pre-Set Hourly” on the task invite
Benefits for Taskers:
- Sets expectations for time-based tasks
- Consistent earning structure
Self-Set Hourly Earning Structure
This is the original Taskrabbit model. You choose your own hourly rate by category, and you’ll always get 100% of the hourly rate you set, plus 100% of any tips from clients.
Where you’ll see it: Most categories, from Cleaning to Moving to Furniture Assembly
Look for this label: “Self-Set Hourly” on the task invite
Benefits for Taskers:
- Adjust based on experience and demand
- Set custom hourly rates by category
How Payments Work: From Booking to Payout
No matter the pricing model, here’s how the payment process flows:
- You receive a task invite — with hourly rate clearly displayed.
- You accept the task invitation — and make sure you have everything you need for the task.
- You complete the task — and confirm when it’s done.
- The client is charged — and Taskrabbit processes your payment.
- You get paid — most payouts arrive within 1–3 business days via Stripe.
Don’t forget about tips! For all types of tasks, clients can add a tip after their task. You’ll be notified if a tip is included, and tips are paid out alongside your task payment.
