Tasker Spotlight: Nola R.

Meet Nola R., a determined and enthusiastic Las Vegas Tasker who discovered Taskrabbit as an opportunity to kickstart her career after graduating from high school. Nola had always enjoyed building items and after researching other services, she found that Taskrabbit was the best option for her.

“My favorite part of being a Tasker is meeting new people,” Nola says, “I love to do tasks because I get to go to different places every day and explore my city.”

Join us as we explore a typical day in Nola’s life as a Tasker based in lively Las Vegas!

Rise and Shine:

I work on Taskrabbit almost every day. I average about 6 days a week and about 24 hours – 30 hours per week. When I wake up in the morning I review what tasks I have for the day and gather equipment necessary for appointments (dolly, ladder, drop clothes, hardware).

Tackling the Tasks:

Prior to leaving for the first appointment, I notify the client that I am en route to the appointment. When I arrive at the appointment I start the timer on my phone and begin the task.

My top tasking categories are Furniture Assembly, IKEA Assembly, and General Mounting. When I complete the task I get back in my vehicle and send the invoice. I repeat this process for all appointments that day. In between appointments I run errands or eat. Then I come home, eat dinner, confirm the next day’s appointments in the app, and relax for the rest of the night.

Best Part of Tasking:

I would say the most rewarding part of tasking would be helping people. I like when I build something for someone or a family that they needed or really wanted and that makes their day. I feel good knowing that people will use what I build in their day to day for practical reasons or to improve their life in some way. Like exercise equipment to workout, or a swing set to play with, or a dinner table and chairs to enjoy meals as a family. Makes me feel good.

Most Challenging Part of Tasking:

I would say either space constraints or instructions would have to be a tie. Sometimes when I build items there is enough room for the item to be placed but not necessarily for it to be built, so maneuvering around that is always fun lol. Or the instructions, I am pretty good at making sense out of a wide variety of instructions however if the print is small or faded or if the instructions are in a different language makes things challenging, but not impossible.

The DREAM Task:

The one thing I currently have never built is a play escape. I have built things close like an outdoor house, swing set, slides, and trampolines but a full jungle gym that would be so fun… or so I think! I like projects where I have a lot of pieces so I can tinker and connect them all together and that is the only thing I can think of that would have a ton of pieces.

The First Task Is Always The Most Memorable:

It was February 3, 2021. I was a young little 18-year-old ready to take on the world. I came to the task, I didn’t have nearly as many tools as I do now. But I got it done. It was an IKEA Malm Bed. It actually took me 2.5 hours to build because it was my first time building it but I stuck it out and got it done. The family was nice and they gave me the space to learn. I now can put that same bed together in 45 min.

That task is memorable to me because it was the starting point to a whole new chapter of my life and if it wasn’t for the first one I wouldn’t have the experience I have now.

Nola’s journey as a Tasker has provided her with an opportunity to not only enter the workforce but make a positive impact on people’s lives on a day-to-day basis. We hope Nola’s story inspires anyone looking for a pathway to professional and personal growth and shows that you can also build (literally) the life of your dreams.
