Tasker Spotlight: Trent H.

“Working for Taskrabbit has helped me grow both personally and professionally,” shares Tasker Trent Hunter. “It provides peace of mind and ongoing support.” Trent first heard about the app during a chance conversation with a rideshare passenger, and soon after, he began tasking full time. In just a few years, he not only became debt-free, but also built lasting friendships with both clients and fellow Taskers along the way.

Driven by a passion for helping others, Trent has grown his tasking business by honing his handyman skills, boosting his profile, and approaching every job with the golden rule in mind. When he’s not tackling new challenges—like moving gun safes or hauling a king-sized pullout couch up three flights of stairs—he enjoys traveling, hiking, cooking, and watching Anthony Hopkins films.

Read on as Trent shares his most memorable tasks, personal milestones, and the advice he offers to new Taskers just getting started.

It’s rare we see someone with so many jobs in the moving category, or related to moving. How did you build your expertise in this field?

I’m always learning new things from other Taskers. I also watch my fair share of YouTube videos and read articles. Experience is the best teacher.

Please share a unique or memorable task(s) that you have completed on the Taskrabbit platform. What surprised you about the task? What made you accept the job?

I ran into a client at a hardware store whom I’d worked for several years prior. I had forgotten his name but remembered his face. He ended up hiring me again on Taskrabbit to help him build a cable railing system for a staircase/entryway at his house. The job was one of the most challenging I’d done to date, but I learned a lot through the process. He and I had fun working together and were very proud of the final product.

What are some of the most noteworthy things you have moved? Or locations you have moved things to?

I’ve moved gun safes and pianos. The most memorable thing I’ve moved was a leather sofa with a king-sized, pullout mattress. Four of us carried it up three flights of stairs. I felt like we’d wrestled a bear!

Is there any advice you’d like to give to Taskers who are just starting out with moving? What do you usually bring to a task?

Always bring gloves! Dollies and ratchet straps are items I use all the time. A piece of advice I would give is to treat your clients’ belongings as if they’re your own. Slow down to speed up.

If you could do a task for anyone, who would it be and why?

Anthony Hopkins. He’s my favorite actor!

What’s your favorite Anthony Hopkins movie? If you could do a task for one of his characters, which character would it be?

Remains of the Day. I would do a big string lights project at the estate of Lord Darlington.
