Tips For Keeping Your Taskrabbit Account Secure

Maintaining the security of the Taskrabbit community is our highest priority, and we encourage all users to take regular precautions to protect their account. Here are some suggestions for how to keep your account safe:

  1. Update your password often. Taskrabbit will never ask for your password or ask you to change your password to a specific word or phrase.
  2. Use different and unique character combinations. When changing your password, it helps to use a distinctive combination of letters, numbers, and special characters that you only use for your Taskrabbit account.
  3. Avoid using the same login across multiple platforms. This reduces the risk of hackers gaining access to your other accounts.
  4. Use two-factor authentication. This adds an extra layer of security to your Taskrabbit account.

Watch for phishing emails

Phishing emails are emails that claim to be from Taskrabbit and are sent with the intent of accessing your password and other sensitive information. Valid emails from Taskrabbit will show from an address that ends in “@taskrabbit.com” or “@taskrabbit.zendesk.com.” If you receive an email claiming to be from Taskrabbit but it shows a concerning email address, please contact us at support.tr.co. We’ll confirm that we received your email and investigate further.

If anything looks questionable, we advise you not to click any links in the email or open any attachments.

Update your details

If you change your address, phone number, or email address, please update the contact details on your Taskrabbit account so we can inform you of any account changes.

Report any unusual activity on your account

We suggest checking your preferences regularly to make sure no one has accessed your account or made changes without your permission. If anything has changed without your authorization, please contact us right away.

Lastly, if you’re a Tasker, watch for fraudulent task requests

Fraudulent tasks occur when a fraudulent client requests a fake task in order to contact you, fraudulently pose as Taskrabbit, and take over your payment details or create a non-legitimate invoice. Contact us right away if you notice an illegitimate charge or a task that looks suspicious.

For information on how to prevent fraudulent tasks from occurring, see this support article.

Should you ever suspect fraud or feel unsafe during a task, cancel the task, and select cancellation reason “fraudulent task” or “Tasker feels unsafe.”
