Below are some of his go-to scoping steps before leaving for a Mounting task. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>Pre-Task Scoping Questions To Ask The Client <\/b><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>What type of wall will I be mounting on?\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If the client isn\u2019t sure, see <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.taskrabbit.com\/blog\/mounting-105-know-your-wall-types\">Mounting 105: &#8220;Knowing Your Wall Types&#8221;<\/a>&nbsp;<\/strong>to help the client figure out what type of wall it is.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For a standard mounting job, you\u2019ll probably be dealing with drywall, lathe and plaster wall types. This is essential to clarify early on because you\u2019ll need special tools for concrete, cinderblock, masonry, and brick.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What room in the house will I be mounting in?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Is there furniture that will need to be moved out of the way?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do you have furniture coverings or blankets to be used to protect other furniture if I\u2019ll be mounting things above them?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Will the task require a ladder?\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Sometimes clients have the necessary ladder or step stool, and sometimes one simply isn&#8217;t needed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To understand more about where a client would like an item mounted, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.taskrabbit.com\/blog\/profile\/nicholas-c--34?utm_medium=tryprofile&amp;invitation_source=url&amp;utm_source=trycode\">Nick C.<\/a> recommends asking the following questions (once you arrive at the task location):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>How high off the ground should the item be mounted?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Should it be centered? If yes, in relation to what?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Would you like this item aligned to other room features?\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Holding up the item for the client may be easier than using measurements in this case.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>Pre-Task Scoping Questions To Ask Yourself<\/b><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u201cDo I have all the tools I need?\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cAre my drill batteries charged?\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cDo I have all the correct mounting hardware for the task?\u201d If you\u2019re not sure what to provide, always double-check with the client via chat.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Double-check that you have the correct address and apartment number if applicable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As with any task, proper scoping in advance is important to successful completion.
