This year at Taskrabbit, we conducted a survey* to gather information on what moms really want for Mother’s Day.
The results may surprise you: they don’t want flowers. They don’t want candy. And they definitely don’t want balloons.
The answer? They. 👏 Want. 👏 HELP. 👏
Preferably around the house.
Check out three easy ways you can help make Mother’s Day extra special this year.
Gift her lovely smelling clothes.
Laundry is one of those tasks that appear harmless on the surface. Sure, it might seem easy enough to pop clothes in the washing machine, but there’s one small plot twist we all overlook: inertia. And don’t even get us started on the “f-word” of laundry… FOLDING. In the words of our favorite Friend, Chandler – could folding laundry BE any more boring? In a word? Nope. So do your mama a favor and book her a Tasker who not only is great at doing laundry but actually enjoys it too. Crazy, right?
Gift her help with home organization.
Have you noticed that moms are in a way better mood when their homes are organized? That’s not a coincidence. According to an article on BBC.com, a UCLA study suggests that mothers living in messy houses had higher levels of the stress hormone, cortisol. Yikes. Book her some organizational help, stat.
Gift her a sparkling clean kitchen.
What’s worse than a dirty kitchen? A dirty kitchen that your mom has to clean. ‘Nuff said.
