TaskRabbit Expands to LA & OC

Today marks a very exciting day for us here at TaskRabbit. For nearly three years, we’ve been diligently building and perfecting our platform and service in Boston and San Francisco. All the while, folks in cities across the country have been clamoring for TaskRabbit in their own neighborhoods. It has been a dream of mine since I founded TaskRabbit on a cold winter night in Boston back in 2008 to take TaskRabbit national.  After raising our Series A round, led by Shasta Ventures, just over a month ago, the time has come to realize this dream. So, LA and Orange County – here we come!

For TaskRabbit to succeed, we knew we had to diligently focus on building a state-of-the-art infrastructure, including a proprietary payment platform, bidding system, and messaging platform that supports the operational and logistical functionality required to deliver a seamless user experience. Now that this has been built, we feel comfortable expanding to other regions.

After exploring dozens of cities from all over the United States and tallying all the votes from our loyal fans throughout the country on our city map, we landed on Los Angeles as our third TaskRabbit city. The Los Angeles area is the ideal place for TaskRabbit for a number of reasons. First, it is a dynamic city full of distinct neighborhoods with a strong sense of community. Second, it also has a huge population of talented and entrepreneurial people. Finally and most importantly, LA, has a population of time-strapped residents who can live smarter by utilizing TaskRabbit.

So, today, we’re excited to announce that TaskRabbit has officially opened its LA and Orange County markets. We are extremely pleased that Los Angeles is TaskRabbit’s third market and we are so excited to hop into action in this fabulous city. Residents in the L.A. area can post Tasks by visiting  For those interested in becoming a LA TaskRabbit, please apply by clicking here.

Happy Tasking!
