Gaming With TaskRabbit – Introducing our New Runner Level Program!

This week, we launched our brand new Runner Level Program and it is starting to feel like we are deep in the throes of an old-school Nintendo video game. There has been a lot of talk around the office of how many points so-and-so has, how many points so-and-so needs to level up, and intense discussion of who will hit level 25 first. Oh, it definitely takes me back to when I was 13 and dominating Super Mario Brothers.

So what is the new Runner Level Program, you ask? Really, it’s more than just a game. It is a cool new way to distinguish Runners based on their TaskRabbit activity and experience. Take a look at the yellow circle next to any Runner’s profile pic. This number is the Runner Level. Runners improve their Runner Level by earning points, which are collected through different TaskRabbit activities, like running Tasks (of course!), introducing a new Sender to TaskRabbit, bidding quickly, and more. Over the next few weeks, we will be rolling out new ways for Runners to collect points and level up.

The new Runner Level is definitely more than just a fun game. It benefits both our Runners and Senders. Since, there is a bit of gamer in all of us – who doesn’t like earning points- improving the Runner Level is a very rewarding experience for our Runners. It recognizes them for their hard work- kinda like saving the princess in Super Mario Brothers.

We’ve also built a TaskRabbit Leaderboard, which inspires some friendly competition among our Runners. Even if you’re a brand new Runner (or a newbie in gamer speak), you can get a share of the spotlight. The Leaderboard not only highlights the highest-level Runners, but also those who have earned the most points over the past 3 weeks. Any Runner can compete for the top score!

Senders benefit because they now know more about the Runners who are bidding on their Task, including their experience level.  Senders can also choose to hire a Runner from the Leaderboard on the Post a Task page.

As you can tell, we are pretty excited about this new program. We hope it makes the TaskRabbit experience even more awesome for both our Runners and Senders… just as awesome as Super Mario Brothers!
