1. Themes are your BFFs

The hallmark of any Halloween party is great costumes, but sometimes guests don’t have the time or energy to dress up. To increase participation, pick a theme that’s easy and accessible. For example, a decade – like the ‘80s – is broad enough for people to throw together a last-minute costume. Simply a set of legwarmers can do the trick! After all, Halloween without costumes is just a regular party with refined sugar.

2. Decorate (duh)

When it comes to Halloween, there’s no such thing as overdecorating. Most people love the look of decorations, but putting them up? Not so much. Delegate your decorating by hiring a Tasker not only to install your decorations, but shop for them as well. Having the scariest house on the block just got way easier.

3. MYOC: make your own candy

Remember when Monica from Friends made her own candy and people lined up to taste her “little drops of heaven”? Homemade candy adds an extra “oomph” to your party because it’s unique and thoughtful – a great way to show your guests you care. Once you’re done MYOC-ing, book a Tasker to clean your kitchen while you do candy quality control (read: eat).

4. Hop on the pumpkin everything train

Whether you love ’em or hate ’em, people go bananas for pumpkins. So why not give your guests what they want? From pumpkin bars to pumpkin soup, there are countless ways to prepare this versatile gourd, as well as a bajillion seasonal products to purchase. Why hello there, pumpkin tortilla chips and salsa!

5. Curate a music playlist

No Halloween party would be complete without blasting Rhianna’s dance-worthy “Disturbia” or the hair-raising theme to the Halloween movie. If you’re into crowdsourcing, ask your guests to share music requests prior to the party, or you can also check out music streaming services for playlist inspiration. Bonus points if you add a fog machine to the dance floor!
