What's new

After much deliberation, analysis, and talking with our community, RunMyErrand.com becomes TaskRabbit.com.
Why the name change?
There are many reasons. When Leah Busque founded RunMyErrand in 2008, she knew the name would only last so long. It was a great name to bring the company this far, but here a few reasons why we decided to move forward with a name change now:
- People are using the site for more than just errands. From IKEA furniture assembly, to help jump starting a car battery, our community has grown far beyond errand running.
- We wanted something shorter and spunkier, like our founder. RunMyErrand.com didn't make sense for our Business TaskPosters, or businesses that were using RunMyErrand.com to get their deliveries done. They weren't delivering *errands*, but they did have *tasks* that they needed to get done.
Along with a new name, we have a spiffy new website, with a ton more fantastic features!
- Pay only when the task is complete
- Secure and easy credit card storage. Set up your payment options once & forget it
- Put a task out to bid - Allow TaskRabbits to bid on your task and then you choose the perfect TaskRabbit for the job.
- Schedule a task to happen every 1, 2, 4, or 6 weeks.
- Live Activity Feed. See what's getting done. Right now. learn more
- Find your friends on TaskRabbit.com and invite the ones that aren't part of the community yet. learn more
- Quick posting for our most popular tasks. See our task ideas page
What if I am an old RunMyErrand customer with credits in my account?
Credits from old RunMyErrand customer accounts will be preserved. During the switchover to TaskRabbit.com, you will receive your equivalent balance in your TaskRabbit.com account. On TaskRabbit.com, there are not any credit packages, and your account will reflect the real dollars that you paid for your old RunMyErrand credits. Because of this exchange rate of credits to dollars, you will actually receive more dollars in your account than you previously had in RunMyErrand credits. On average, you will receive 30% more dollars than you had in credits.
Why do I have to enter my credit card information before posting a Task?
On TaskRabbit.com you do not pay for your Task until it is actually complete. We ask for your credit card information up front to ensure that payment can be made after the Task is complete. Your card will not be charged until you actually close out the Task and provide a rating and review of your TaskRabbit.
As a TaskRabbit, are there changes to the cash out process?
Yes, we have streamlined the process quite a bit. You can cash out at anytime after you have earned $25, and checks will be sent in the mail every 2 weeks. The payment process we had in place before was just not sustainable as we continue to grow.
