Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer, San Francisco
Seeking an experienced Ruby on Rails Engineer to rock out with the rest of the engineering team, creating hot code, to implement the next set of exciting features on TaskRabbit.com. As the Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer, the team would look to you for best practices around deployment, test driven development, and agile methodology.
<techstuff>We are built with Ruby on Rails, MySQL, and HTML with a sprinkle of jQuery (for added hotness). We’re deploying to EC2 using Capistrano and Bundler and run delayed_job to get stuff done. Our controllers lean on inherited_resources, authlogic, and declarative_authorization. Most of the code is in the models. We have great test coverage in Cucumber and RSpec.</techstuff>

UX / Designer Ninja, San Francisco
Seeking a super star front end engineer to work with the existing entrepreneurial team to implement new features and optimize existing ones from controller-level to UI. You will be working closely with, and incorporating feedback from product management, back-end engineers, and our amazing community of TaskRabbit users. Being able to rapidly fix bugs and solve problems is key, as well as pro-actively look for ways to make TaskRabbit better.
The Role of the Designer Ninja:
- Implement new features and optimize existing ones from IA, interactive design, visual design, and overall UI
- Work closely with, and incorporate feedback from product management and back-end engineers
- Rapidly fix bugs and tough design solve problems
- Be able to empathize with the end user, optimizing your design to convert and engage our customers
- Pro-actively look for ways to make TaskRabbit better
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience with visual design, HTML, CSS
- JavaScript and AJAX is a plus
- A love for graphic design and user interaction design
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks.
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Minimum 3 years of industry experience developing consumer oriented Web front ends
Member Services Manager, San Francisco
The Member Services Manager will take on the role of ensuring an amazing user experience across all regions of product interactions. This will include managing interactions on live chat, support emails, and via phone. You would be managing the relationship with our users and be the first point of contact when issues arrise. You will have the support of the management team and top Runners, who are also involved as member services associates.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree plus a minimum of 2-3 years of work experience, ideally in member services and/or customer service.
- Unbelievably approachable and motivational people skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Problem solving-the individual identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner, gathers and analyzes information skillfully and maintains confidentiality.
- Interpersonal skills-the individual maintains confidentiality, remains open to others' ideas and exhibits willingness to try new things.

Community Marketing Manager, San Francisco
The ideal candidate will excel at managing and motivating crucial communities within the TaskRabbit universe. On the ground, these include the Runners who perform tasks, the members who post tasks and Street Teams who do creative marketing at a hyper-local level. Digitally, these include growing TaskRabbit communities on Facebook, Twitter and other social media sites. To excel, this person must be superbly tuned to the latest trends in social media marketing.
This team member must thrive in a scrappy, low-budget business environment while working quickly and with little direction. Last, it is essential that this person passionately believes in TaskRabbit’s potential and understands that lower salary requirements now may lead to payoffs down the road.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree plus a minimum of 2-3 years of work experience, ideally in community management and/or consumer marketing for a B2C Internet company.
- Unbelievably approachable and motivational people skills.
- Exceptionally firm grasp of social media marketing techniques and trends.
- A sense of dignity and pride while wearing rabbit ears. (aka a sense of humor)
- Nice-to-haves: customer service and/or event marketing skills.
